Development of The Project

In February 2008 The District Allotments Federation  kindly donated  5 allotments (1200sq ms) at their Gibson Lane Kippax site, for the use of this project for the next 25+ years.  The intention is to build a garden that will accommodate  persons with special needs and where necessary their carers.

Phase 1 Started in Spring 2008

The first major project was to dig over the plot and this work was done by groups of volunteers from several Law Firms in Leeds - Addleshaw Goddard,PricewaterhouseCoooper,Eversheds, Hammonds and University of Leeds Law Dept.

Phase 2 started in March 2009

Work started on the development of raised beds, ground levelling and provision of flagged paths for wheel chair access. Enilow Engineering were the contractors and the work was funded by Caird Bardon through Grantscape

The Next phase involved a Comfort block funded by Barclays Bank

and a Summer House financed by Zurich Insurance
